Hello Jai,
Well, I have just read your entire blog site and would like to say that you have a gift for narration in the form of the written narrative! I was captivated by all the entries: the beautiful descriptions of your spiritual journey, from meeting Neemkaroli-ji and feeding him antiseptic berries, to running up Badrinath to deliver milk and a blanket to the sadhu-ess, to exploring Hanuman’s footprint with your spiritual mother…All truly delightful and moving. I had the fortune of reading these entries while playing samples of your music, as you offer them on your home page. And so I was submerged in your aura which is lovely. Keep up with your music and especially with your “light-filled-memories.”
Respectfully from a kirtan artist herself and a long-time devotee of an enlightened Guru.

Oh yes, what a bliss, to make music with the bauls. I enjoyed it on the Khumba Melas and one`s had an encounter-jam-session with a baul in Tiziano Terzani`s flat in New Dehli.

And Posta-Vegetables was always my favourite in spring-time in the himalayas, did you ever try it mixed with young gras plants, sooo good. One Sadhu, who visited me got addicted to it, stayed two month in my ashram, only eating and sleeping, I had to wake him up and ask him what he wanna do next, he went and looked for a cave to engage in deep meditation! Jai Gange!

hi jay
thank you thank you thank you for sharing these stories
shantam send me your link and i just got done reading part I and II of your baul story. i am deeply inspired by how it is all affecting me, as i have so much in me that hasn't been written about my years in india in the late 70's.
i love your style and i sense a deep soberness that is allowing you to put it all into a truly inspiring written form.
the other ways you have inspired me are of course your music.
after many years in the krishna movement i had come to the end of my "discipleship" and i needed to find out what is true in my heart.
i had been worshiping radha krishna for 15 years and didn't know that i had not really tasted the feminine manifestation of the divine.
at ashkanaz i think it was the first time you performed the jaya jagad ambe song, my heart broke open and she came in so strong. that's when i knew that in all those years in the temple i hadn't really opened up to her emotionally and that now was the time.
that song wasn't published until a long time later and it only remained in my heart and mind and when we finally got a pre-release copy and heard it in the car, shantam had to pull over and let me cry my heart out. it was partly this experience in addition to some others that got me to sing again and i am finally now years later even singing kirtan again.
i just neede to let it go for a while and now it feels much more real and alive and i want to thank you for playing (singing) part in this.
thank you brother
love
